Mrs. Joanna Magaña
Hi! I am Mrs. Magana and I teach first grade. I grew up locally in Rowland Heights and currently am a member of Landmark Church in Diamond Bar. After graduating High School, I went on to Mount SAC to earn my AA and then my BA in Liberal Studies at CAL State Fullerton. I earned my teaching credential at National University, and Clear Credential through UCLA. I began my teaching career in 2008 at a public charter high school where I was blessed to serve underprivileged youth. God used me to encourage students who had given up on themselves or their high school education to be their best selves and to give them the motivation to cross the finish line and graduate. When I decided it was time to leave the high school, I took a couple years to serve as a substitute for the Ontario/Montclair School District. During this time I was placed in many long term substitute positions which showed me that my true love is for first grade. I love first grade as this is a huge developmental phase for children and they make amazing connections and growth in their educational journey. I started teaching at Loving Savior in 2019 and truly found where God was calling me to be. When I am not here with my second set of kids, I am at home with my husband raising our three children, at a Girl Scout or Boy Scout event, or making cake pops.
Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work. C.S. Lewis
