I was born in the Philippines. I graduated from the University of the Philippines for my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. I studied at Azusa Pacific University for my Administration Program. Formerly taught at Los Angeles Unified School District for many years before I retired in 2017. It is tough to put a halt to what you love to do so I decided to continue what I enjoy doing- teaching. During my years at the public school, I also worked as a District BTSA Mentor working with beginning teachers hired by LAUSD and an ELD school coordinator giving intervention classes for those students who were at risk of not meeting their grade level standards. I love California which has become my state home since I immigrated here in 1981. I have traveled in most countries due to my son’s job, a Navy service member, which gave me the opportunities to visit him wherever he was posted. Right now, I look forward to working with my students and their families.
My biblical philosophies come from the following verses:
Matthew 5: 16 “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
1 Corinthians 13:4-5, 13 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” “And now these three remain: Faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
