I was born in Wisconsin, but raised in Norwood, MN where I attended St. John’s Lutheran School. I attended Mayer Lutheran High and had incredibly encouraging teachers who served as mentors and role models to emulate. At Concordia –St. Paul, I met my gregarious wife, Kriss. We moved to Hollywood, California, where I started a career in jewelry retailing which lasted until the birth of my daughter, Alison. This event served as the impetus for me to return to school and to complete my degree at Concordia – Irvine. I returned to retail sales – music, this time – until I was hired at Lutheran High School San Diego. I have since taught Special Education students in the San Diego Public Schools and High school students at Valley Lutheran High School in Phoenix, specifically in language and literature for the past 19 years. This past year, I taught at Redeemer Ontario and was also the Principal, overseeing the final year of the school in its current form.
